The Human Resources Department ensures
that the organization's personnel policies and practices

Northern Maine Medical Center is an

hire and promote for all job classifications on the
basis of merit, qualifications and competence. Employment
decisions will be made upon the basis of the individual's
qualifications as related to the requirements of the
position being filled.
Northern Maine Medical Center
has five categories of employment:
- Full-time - Scheduled to work
at least 35 hours per week. Must be willing to
work up to 40 hours per week if requested to do
so. These employees receive a full benefits package.
- Part-time - Regularly scheduled
to work less than 35 hours per week but at least
20 hours per week. These employees receive one
half on the insurance benefits package.
- Casual - Regularly scheduled
to work less than 20 hours per week. These employees
are normally eligible to accrue earned time.
- Per-Diem - Hired on an-as-needed
basis to fill scheduling needs. These employees
are normally eligible to accrue earned time. Specific
criteria must be met to maintain this status.
- Temporary - These employees
are hired only for a specific, limited period
of time. These employees are not eligible for
benefits and do not accrue earned time.
Northern Maine Medical Center has a
