Occupational Medicine Program
Northern Maine Medical Center has a number of
established programs to assist employers to meet
various regulatory agency guidelines such as OSHA
(Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
under the Occupational Medicine Program. This program
is designed to help employers with pre-placement
physicals, hearing tests, ergonomic assessments,
respiratory protection and much more. There are
a number of safety programs which train employees
to handle emergency situations as well as to make
the work environment safer for everyone. As a health
and safety resource, Northern Maine Medical Center
extends its knowledge-base expertise to assist employers
who are in need of such services. If facility
permits, training can be provided at the work site.
These services may include the following:
AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CPR COURSES
- 2-year certification (Heartsaver AED)
AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HEART
SAVER FIRST AID COURSE
- 2-year certification (meets OSHA standards)
CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT
- Screening includes: blood pressure, body mass
index, and cholesterol.
- As needed, counselling is provided.
