MISSION STATEMENT
The St. John Valley Partnership is a diverse organization whose mission
is to educate the people of the upper St. John Valley about physical
activity, nutrition, and tobacco prevention through initiatives that
promote a healthy lifestyle.
The St. John Valley Partnership, a Healthy Maine Partnership, is a collaboration
between Northern Maine Medical Center, Maine School Administrative Districts
#27 (Fort Kent), #33 (St. Agatha), and the Madawaska School District.

| TATU TrainingArea YAP students
participated in a T.A.T.U. (Teens Against Tobacco Use)
training on January 17. The photo shows YAP leader, Heather
Harman, teaches youngsters a dance to the song, "Coughin' in
Your Coffin." This interactive workshop uses a variety of
techniques to teach teans to make healthy choices about
tobacco use and how to be advocates for tobacco control in the
community. Facilitator of the workshop is Tammy Bernier, SAD
#27 Chemical Health Educator, St. John Valley Partnership YAP
Coordinator.

Tubing On Febuary 23, approximately 50
St. John Valley YAP students will enjoy tubing at the New
Denmark Ski Lodge. Students from three school communities and
YAP leaders will travel to the resort near Grand Falls to
enjoy three hours of snow activity and fresh air.
