NMMC’s new Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program is designed to improve the quality of life for patients recovering from heart and lung conditions. This medically supervised program offers personalized exercise prescriptions/care plans focused on strength training and endurance, education, and emotional support to manage risk factors and minimize future complications. The Program is available to individuals recovering from heart disease, heart attacks/surgery, emphysema, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. The team of multidisciplinary experts includes the patient’s primary care physician, medical director (hospitalist/Internist), registered nurse, and licensed clinical social worker.
